Hello everyone, I gave a little dinner party last Saturday, and it's always the occasion for me to pimp my flat with some fresh cut flowers. When I was on the market, I bought some blue flowers. I decided not to mix them, but to make three different bouquet and display them on different spots of the flat. Here is the result. I hope you will enjoy it. Which one do you prefer? Myosotis, delphinium or hortensia? Speak to you soon!
Still life in pink
Hello everyone,I hope you're having a great bank holiday. I jus had a great lunch in the sun and decided to post some flowers on the blog today. I made this bouquet in different shades of pink in a medicis for the last issue of the great sisterMAGAZINE to illustrate my article about still life photography. By the way, the new edition of sisterMAG is coming out very soon - and it's going to be gorgeous as usual! So stay tuned.
Speak to you very soon!

My yellow anemones
Hello everyone,I haven't been very active on the blog lately. Soon, I will reveal you why, and I hope I will find more time to write and publish more. Today I want to share some simple and extraordinary flowers at the same time with you. I have always loved anemones. We used to buy some with my mum for my piano teacher who loved them when I was a little girl: the classical red, white and blue mix. The other day I the flower shop, I found some yellow ones! They don't naturally grow that way, they are artificially coloured, which I usually hate, but this time, I love the result! What do you think? I also love how they contrast with the blue grape hyacinths.
The flowers are from the flower shop Küchenblume in Hamburg. The fabric is from heuteschmidt. The vase is from Miss étoile.
Have a wonderful week and speak to you soon!

Vase story - my little whale from Japan
Hello everyone, Inga from Glomerylane and I have been really overwhelmed by the success of our first participative edition of #2flowergirls. You can see the links to the participating blogs under Inga's blogpost and under mine. Thank you so much for all those flowers, and for the positive and encouraging feedback. It made us all warm inside - and we definitely need that at the moment in Germany. You can check out the result on the March Pinterest board of #2flowergirls.
Today I decided to blog not directly about flowers, but about vases - my other love! When I travel, I always try to bring a little vase back with me in my suitcase that reminds me of the great places I visited. I bought this one on our honeymoon in Japan in 2008. I found it at a gorgeous shop for handcrafted products in Kyoto. It always makes me smile when I see it. It combines my love for flowers and for Japanese design with my obsession about animals in decoration.
What about you, have you got a favourite vase? What do you bring back with you as a souvenir, when travelling?
I wish you a wonderful week!

2 flower girls #3
Hello everyone, Today is the third edition of #2flowergirls with Glomerylane and it is a very exciting edition for us, as we are slowly becoming more than 2 flower girls as everyone can participate. It is so beautiful to see how many different things you can do with the same flowers. So inspiring. If you want to see the other bouquets, you can check out our #2flowergirls Pinterest board or follow the links in the comment fields. Maybe spring will come eventually!
Here are my photos and those from my lovely partner in crime Inga:
I am so in love with Inga's colours. I love this light pink on a grey background. For my bouquet I decided to go round, and make a compact bouquet that reminds me of a wedding bouquet.
This time, we selected the same flowers, in different colours, but we both had the same idea to do a picture with a candlelight holder. Mine comes from the lovely designer frau sieben based in Hamburg.
We are looking forward to discovering your flowers! Please link your blogpost under this post or send us your photos by email to this address: 2flowergirls@web.de and we will post them on our pinterest board.
I wish you a fantastic week - and don't forget to buy some flowers for your home!

three little bouquets
Hello everyone,When I found those gorgeous old roses on Saturday, I couldn't resist and had to bring them home with you and show them to you on the blog today.
As usual, instead of making a huge bouquet, without rearranging the flowers, I chose to make three little bouquets in various glasses or candle holders I brought back with me when I was travelling or visiting friends.
When trying to make a small bouquet, there is no point in trying to keep all the leaves. So DON'T BE AFRAID TO CUT THEM AND CUT THE STEMS!
Next week Inga and myself will be announcing the flowers for the March edition of the #2flowergirls project, and you can be part of it and style those flowers as well and share the photos with us. I wish you a very good week and don't forget to buy some flowers!

Still life photography - my article in SisterMAG
Hello everyone, Two days ago, the new sisterMAG - a journal for the digital lady - came out in English and German. The topic of the issue is Trends and Utopia. I wrote an article for the issue about the trend of still life photography with an exclusive interview of the Australian photographer Kevin Best about still life photography in general and also about his new book Still Life Photography. I was so happy about the result and the beautiful layout and so honored to be part of the great publication. The quality of the articles in sisterMAG is remarkable and I especially love the way the heart of the two sisters Thea and Toni beats for the digital world. SisterMAG is definitely the future of publication, it is a trend, but will not stay an utopia. You can read the magazine online via the issuu desktop version but also offline and your smartphone or tablet by downloading the sisterMAG app for IOS or of the Android App. With these apps, you can enjoy reading your sisterMAG in the tube or in the train on your mobile device.
Here is the complete issue in English:

I hope you like the article! I am looking forward to your feedback! Speak to you soon xxx Elodie
2 flower girls #2 - by glomerylane & madame love
Hello there, Here comes the second edition of my flower column 2 flower girls with the sweet Inga from the blog glomerylane.
For those who are discovering the concept today, the idea is that we buy the same flowers in the same colours on the same day and style them our own way. For today's arrangements, we decided to use pink and white tulips. This time it was Inga's turn to pick the flowers, and I was very happy about her choice, as I don't buy tulips very often. It made me step out of my comfort zone a bit, which sometimes allows you to be more creative.
I will first show you the flowers unarranged:
I decided to present my flowers in a very colourful vase/cup from the Danish label Greengate that I bought a couple of years ago in Berlin and a single flower in a glass vase I brought back from Stockholm last week, which comes from the great interior shop of Lotta Agaton. Inga displayed her tulips in an antique teapot with a tulip pattern. I love the way she puts a single flower in the spout of the teapot.
Inga and I have so much fun every month playing around with the same flowers and styling them in a very different way that we thought that you would maybe like to play with us next time. We will be announcing the flowers we want to style a couple of days before on my facebook fanpage and on Inga's. We would be so happy if readers from all around the world would like to decorate their home with the same flowers on the same day. If you want to communicate about the action on Instagram or Twitter, you can just use the hashtag #2flowergirls.
We will keep you posted anyway. I wish you a very nice day and don't forget to buy flowers and visit glomerylane today to see what Inga wrote about 2 flower girls!

#1.2 – 2 flower girls by Glomerylane & madame love
Hello everyone,Maybe you couldn’t wait to see Inga’s flowers yesterday and had a look at the Glomerylane blog already. Today I will be presenting her flowers on madame love as well. It is stunning to see how you can achieve a very different styling with the same flowers.
First I am in love with the sweet owl vase, I think that using animals in decoration is just charming.
I also love the dark background, and the texture of the fabric on some of the photos. I think it gives the composition a very strong atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with the cuteness of the owl. I found this first edition of “2 flower girls” very exciting and stimulating. What do think? I am really curious to hear about your reaction. To be continued in February.

#1.1 - 2 flower girls by Glomerylane & madame love
A the end of 2012, I met Inga and visited her beautiful flower blog Glomerylane online. We have been talking a lot over skype and e-mail since. I live in Hamburg (in the north of Germany) and Inga lives in Stuttgart (down South) and we will finaly meet in real life in March at a blogger meet-up in Munich. We decided to start a project together in 2013, as we share the same passion for flowers, and flower styling. Once a month, Glomerylane and madame love will be writing a column together called “2 flower girls”. The idea is that we buy the same flowers in the same colours on the same day and style them our own way. We would like to give you some styling tips and maybe inspire you to do it yourself at home.
Here are my styling tips to achieve the same result at home:
1- If you use a wide and relatively low vase, don’t be afraid to cut the stems. The flowers have to fall nicely in the vase. 2- Think about the structure of your vase: if you use a vase made of glass, you should try to use the transparency and think about how your stems look through the glass. For this bouquet, I decided to bind the flowers with some organza ribbon. It think it looks gorgeous floating in the water. Try also giving the bunch a nice twist when binding it. 3- Get rid of the leaves – or get rid of most of the leaves. You can keep a couple of them, but if you keep them all, the green will become very dominant in your bouquet. It is true for hyacinths and I think it is also very true with tulips.
Voila! Tomorrow I will be posting Inga’s bouquet on my blog, so stay tuned! If you can’t wait, you can have a look today on her blogpost, at Glomerylane. Have a lovely day, speak to you tomorrow and don’t forget to buy some flowers this week!

I hope you will enjoy them, and I hope that Jodi will forgive me for taking some pictures of the flowers, before bringing them to her place. Have a nice day and don't forget to buy some flowers this week! Speak to you soon xxx Elodie
Mimosa - lighting up the winter like in the south of France
Dear readers,
I hope you had a nice Sunday. It's all christmassy around us - but today, I want to bring a little sun into the middle of the winter with the beautiful mimosa I found in a flower shop yesterday. I combined them with some beautiful dark blue anemones. The colour combination is my mum's favorite and I also love it.
Mimosa is a neon yellow flower that you find at this time of the year in the south of France and reminds me of the wonderful time I had living in Aix-en-Provence. Apart from being so beautiful and delicate, this is a very scented flower. It is a shame I can't do a scented post yet. I decided to do a musical post instead with a song from the French singer Barbara, talking about the death of her mum and wishing that she rests in peace in heaven with the scent of a mimosa flower.
I wish a nice penultimate week of 2012! xxx Elodie
Que vos étés se fleurissent Dans votre pays, là-bas Aux senteurs odorantes D'une fleur de mimosa, Que votre hiver se réchauffe Au coin d'une cheminée, Que les saisons vous soient douces. Vous avez tant mérité.

Blue still life

Micro to macro bouquets
I was very inspired on Thursday on my way back home and came back with a bunch of very different flowers in the pink-purple colour palette with a touch of black. I decided to make not one but 5 bouquets out of it from Extra-Small to Extra-Large. 1- The XS-Bouquet
2- The S-Bouquet In a beautiful white Moroccan vase I brought back from my trip to Antwerp.
4- The L-Bouquet Simple and monochrome
5- The XL-Bouquet Tall and elegant in my favorite Japanese vase
So I am curious to hear about your opinion now. Which size do you prefer? Which bouquet is your favorite? Talk to you soon. xxx

My street: metallic flowers and a friendly dino
Did I already mention, that I live in paradise? And what do you have in paradise?
- a lot of flowers
- a lot of trees and
- some friendly animals.
I have all of that in my street, but some of the flowers are metallic and last all year long and the biggest animal in the street is a dinosaur called "Spekulantenfresser" - which means that he is there to protect a building and its inhabitants from the evil property investors, and is ready to devour them.
I had a beautiful week end. I rented a wide angle lens for my camera, and took a lot of pictures of the flat during the week end. I am excited to show them to you soon on the blog. I wish you a wonderful week. Speak to you soon.
Last September bouquet - a musical post
Dear friends and readers, I wanted to share a song with you from this new band, we discovered lately with Mr. Love. This Australian singing duo is called "The Jane Austen argument" and the song is called under the rainbow: [soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/20678398" iframe="true" /]
So I suggest, you listen to this beautiful song while having a look at my new flower composition. I wish you all a great week-end! PS: the lovely little vase with the stars is not vintage, it is from the lovely Danish label Miss étoile .
red carnation trio
So - now I am back from my short stay in France. I stayed in Lyon and visited some dear friends and my cousin and spent the weekend in the Auvergne for the wedding of my oldest friend. It was really nice! The first thing I did when I came back was buying flowers. You know me! I think that a flat always looks a bit sad when you come back from a holiday and flowers are the best antidote against sadness! I used the pretty vases I bought in the lovely Lieblingszimmer shop and decorated one of them with some washi tape. I am usually not a big fan of carnations but I really got inspired by the intensity of their colours and I used the wonderful French fabric from Petit Pan as a backdrop for my pictures.
Autumnal colours
I know we are only at the very beginning of September, but it is really starting to feel like autumn outside - I don't know about you, but I love this season! And what can better illustrate the change of season than a bunch of orange dahlia? So here are some beautiful orange dahlia for you. I wish you all a beautiful week!
